250 km South of Santiago lies Talca, the seventh region´s capital city. Talca may be easily reached by train or by car using the Panamerican Highway (approx. 3 hours away).
Take the international route to Argentina from Talca (towards Paso Pehuenche) pass San Clemente and the Colbún reservoir. 90 km after, cross Maule River over the Curillinque Bridge. 100 m past the bridge, exit the road to Argentina and turn right onto a gravel road. The road is often in bad state, pick-ups or 4-wheel drive cars are recommended. 16 km up and down the road you´ll reach Lamalodge and shortly after the Melado River.
